Phish tour approaching

Phish tour is coming up in about 3 weeks, and I'm really looking forward to making the long weekend jaunt to Deer Creek and Alpine Valley. More than anything, I'm excited to be with my friends during that weekend. Phish the band just really seems like a backdrop at this point. I could really care less what they play (as long as it's not "Time Turns Elastic") or how good they play it. The whole weekend will just be about an association of a past, pleasant memory that will be rooted in the present by a car-full of friends. Nostalgia will loom heavy I'm sure, but I think that will make it all the more meaningful.

  1. I had these same thoughts running through my head this week. I am not as excited for the music as I should be given the state of the band, but it is the atmosphere that will be much more enjoyable.

  2. Couldn't agree with you more! I love roadtrips and we have so many great memories from Alpine Valley and other Phish adventures...except when I arrived home with one of my sandals and the other one was a size 13 mens...that wasn't so pleasant. Whatever you do, take care of your shoes!

  3. Before even seeing Stacey's shoes comment, I was going to leave a note saying... I wonder how many pairs of shoes I'll lose this journey? Hopefully none. The last journey with Phish I left a pair of flip flops and a pair of Nike's buried deep in the mud of Coventry, Vermont. Someday, I hope they are found like a time capsule 100 years from now and the children digging the fields of Coventry will learn the history of why the fields are strewn with shoes. Then, they too will investigate the music and become Phishheads.

Can't wait for the trip! Bring plenty of shoes!
